More on Kobe

Well tomorrow will be another day at the vet. Kobe is getting a bunch of blood work done. Last week he had an ultrasound with a vet from UC Davis. He is supposed to be one of the best and he couldn't find anything that pointed one way or the other. All the vets are stumped as to what is actually wrong with him, so my hell continues. This weekend was awful. Kobe went downhill pretty bad but now he is coming out of it again. It's really weird because sometimes he seems fine and then other times he is totally lost and can't see. It's agony to see him like this and then he pulls out of it for a glimmer of hope. I keep hearing everyone saying to me that I need to prepare for him dying. Well there is nothing that is going to make it any better or easier. No matter what I do it's going to be devastating.

Kobe update

So most of you know that Kobe has a liver disease, and it's progressive. Yesterday Kobe had a blood transfusion. I sat in the vet all day and held him while he got a slow drip of plasma throughout the whole day. The vet and staff are trully amazing and I am thankful to have found them. I owe a big thanks to Lindsey, Natalie and my Mom for watching the kids so that I could be with my little guy. We are hoping this treatment will buy us a little more time to be with Kobe. The vet has said that he has outlived the life expectancy for a dog with liver shunts. I guess it's all the love he gets. So they think he has anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months left to live. I am personally in a living hell right now, this is my baby and I love him so very much that my heart is breaking. I am trying to spend every last minute with him, knowing our time together is limited. Which includes me crying every day because I just can't handle this at all...Please say a prayer for Kobe or send him love and energy because he needs whatever he can get from the universe right now. thanks!

PB & J

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches is what Leah is currently surviving on. Oh one other thing, she will only have it with the grape jelly that my Grandmother made. So Grandmother had to send me the rest of her supply so that Leah will continue to eat....thank god for Grandmother's they are the best...I love you Grandmother...

For fun!

So you might be wondering what we do for fun up here in the middle of nowhere...We watch Leah play in the creek. The creek is freezing cold because it's all snow run off, so we stuck Sam in it too. We did the same to Leah when she was little too. When I took the picture of Sam I was remembering taking the same one of Leah a while back. And that is still snow on the ground in May believe it.

Spring has sprung

Spring has sprung on the mountain...thank goodness...And I am happy to report that I started driving all the way home this past week too, life is good when you can drive all the way to your driveway, never take that for granted all of you out there who park in your driveway every day. It really is a luxury that you don't even know you have.
